Ambassador: Dr. Joseph Wallins
Joseph Wallins is a cardiology fellow at Weill Cornell. Originally from Boston, MA, he completed his undergraduate degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his medical degree at Harvard Medical School. While in medical school, he pursued a master’s degree in public health focused on epidemiology and statistics. He then completed internal medicine training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Following his IM training, Joseph worked for several years as a hospital medicine attending, first at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and later at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he developed a clinical and research interest in cardio-oncology. He also worked for a start-up company focused on providing remote care to patients living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. In addition to cardio-oncology, Joseph is interested in echocardiography, innovation in cardiac care delivery and value-based care, and medical education. Outside of work, Joseph enjoys running, comedy, and spending time with his wife and baby daughter.

The CardioNerds Ambassadors are fellows nominated by CardioNerds fellowships to represent education at their program. They are an esteemed group of highly motivated individuals with a passion for education. The goal is to both:
- Ensure representation on the platform from their programs
- Foster their individual personal & professional development
The CardioNerds Healy Honor Roll is named after Dr. Bernadine Patricia Healy, a CardioNerd Hero who was the first female director of the National Institutes of Health and accomplished incredible achievements during her career.
