Ambassador: Dr. Katie Vanchiere
Katie Vanchiere, MD, MA is a general cardiology fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. Katie received her BS in biology from the University of Oklahoma and her medical degree from Louisiana State University in her hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. She completed internal medicine residency and chief year at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, where she concurrently earned an MA in Urban Bioethics. Katie’s career interests include critical care cardiology and interventional cardiology, and she is passionate about community engagement as a path to mitigating health disparities. In her free time, Katie loves to travel, try new restaurants, and spend time outdoors with her husband Austin and their dog Cinnamon Bun.

The CardioNerds Ambassadors are fellows nominated by CardioNerds fellowships to represent education at their program. They are an esteemed group of highly motivated individuals with a passion for education. The goal is to both:
- Ensure representation on the platform from their programs
- Foster their individual personal & professional development
The CardioNerds Healy Honor Roll is named after Dr. Bernadine Patricia Healy, a CardioNerd Hero who was the first female director of the National Institutes of Health and accomplished incredible achievements during her career.
